Elbert's Steak Room

One of the best concealed restaurants I know. My boyfriend B and I literally got lost when we got to their building. The address says 3/F Sagittarius Building III, and there we were staring at walls. Now, where is this restaurant?? Out of nowhere, the wall opened. Ohhh.. sliding door pala. :P I guess the waitress heard our stomachs rumble as we were hungry and dying to try out their steaks.

Now, if you're planning to have an intimate date with someone, I suggest you reserve the table for two that's in the corner which I call our little private dining room. Bot
h of you will be seated side by side facing the window with a view... of H.V. Dela Costa Street. And don't expect Top of the Citi-like view where lights just add a romantic touch to your dinner (May I remind you that the restaurant is just at the 3/F of the building). :)

On to our menu..

The waiter started us off with their house bread. Nothing special - just plain old bread and butter.

House Salad - You don't really have a choice. This goes with whatever steak you order. But thankfully, it's good. The amount of vinaigrette is just right. Sometimes, chefs get vinaigrette happy which often spoil the freshness and richness of other salad components.

Tomato Soup - Thinking back, I don't know why we ordered this. Too tomatoey.. I guess I should have expected that.

USDA Prime Grade Ribeye - I must say.. This is one of the best steaks I've had! (Apart from Mamou and Antonio's of course) Juicy, tasty and cooked medium well, just the way I like it. Not over nor undercooked. I suggest a glass of 2010 Argento Malbec to go with this. :)

Slow-roasted Bone-in USDA Choice Grade Prime Rib - Based on B's satisfied face and being a steak lover that he is, he enjoyed this thoroughly. :)

Creamed Spinach - Not so good. I've tried Mamou's version of this and the difference is like night and day.

Truffled Mashed Potato - I just love truffle.. Truffle on pasta, truffle as a dip.. So when it's truffled mashed potato, I'm sure to love! :)

Oh.. and did I mention we were celebrating our 4th monthsary? So, here's a surprise from B. ♥

For all steak lovers out there, Elbert's Steak Room is the place to be. :)

@Gretch - It is! A small restaurant - so be sure to make reservations. I'm sure you and your bf will enjoy. :)
